Your water heater stops working as hard. The efficiency loss you’ve been paying for in every utility bill—that goes away. Scale buildup quits forming inside your pipes, and your appliances start lasting as long as they’re supposed to.
You’ll notice it in the small things first. Soap actually lathers. Your skin doesn’t feel tight after a shower. Dishes come out of the dishwasher without spots, and your clothes stop fading after a few washes.
Then the bigger stuff becomes clear. You’re not replacing your coffee maker every two years. Your washing machine isn’t making that grinding noise. And when your water heater finally does need service, the technician isn’t showing you chunks of calcium buildup and telling you it should’ve lasted another decade.
That’s what a water softening system does. It removes the minerals causing the damage before they ever reach your faucets, your fixtures, or your appliances. You’re not managing hard water anymore—you’re preventing it.
We focus exclusively on whole-house water treatment. We’re not plumbers who install softeners on the side. This is what we do, and we’ve built a reputation in Lake Dot and across Lake County for doing it well.
We’re A-rated with the Better Business Bureau, with a five-star rating and zero complaints. We’re members of the National Water Quality Association, which means we follow industry standards that most companies don’t even know exist. And we support the Tunnels to Towers Foundation because we believe in giving back to the people who serve.
If you’re military or a first responder, we offer a $500 discount. Not because it’s good marketing—because it’s the right thing to do.
We start with water testing. Lake Dot pulls from the Floridan Aquifer, which means your water hardness typically ranges between 150 and 216 mg/L. That’s hard to very hard. We test your specific levels so we can size the system correctly for your home.
Once we know what we’re working with, we recommend a system based on your household size, water usage, and the hardness level we measured. This isn’t one-size-fits-all. A family of two doesn’t need the same setup as a family of five.
Installation includes all plumbing connections, electrical setup if needed, and programming the system to regenerate based on your actual water use. We calibrate everything, test it, and walk you through how it works. You’ll know how to add salt, what the regeneration cycle sounds like, and when to call us if something seems off.
After installation, the system runs automatically. It regenerates when it needs to, based on how much water you use. You add salt every six to eight weeks. That’s it. We recommend an annual inspection to keep everything running efficiently, but there’s no daily maintenance on your end.

Your water softener system comes with professional installation that meets Florida plumbing codes. That matters more than most people realize. A system that’s undersized, incorrectly programmed, or poorly installed won’t perform the way it should—and you’ll end up with the same hard water problems you paid to fix.
We handle the entire setup. That includes connecting the system to your main water line, installing the bypass valve, setting up the drain line, and programming the control head based on your water test results. If your system requires electrical work, we take care of that too.
Lake Dot homeowners deal with some of the hardest water in Florida. The limestone-rich Floridan Aquifer creates mineral levels that damage appliances, clog pipes, and drive up energy costs. A properly installed water softening system removes calcium and magnesium before they enter your home’s plumbing. That protects everything that uses water—your dishwasher, washing machine, water heater, coffee maker, and every fixture in your house.
You’ll also get operation training and a maintenance schedule. We don’t install systems and disappear. You’ll know exactly how your system works, and we’re available for service and support long after installation day.
If you’re seeing white buildup on faucets and showerheads, that’s scale from hard water. If your water heater is failing earlier than it should, or your appliances aren’t lasting as long as the warranty suggested, hard water is usually the reason.
You’ll also notice it when you clean. Soap scum in the shower that won’t come off, spots on dishes even after they’ve been washed, laundry that feels stiff—those are all signs. Lake Dot’s water comes from the Floridan Aquifer, which is naturally high in calcium and magnesium. Most homes here are dealing with hardness levels between 150 and 216 mg/L, which is considered hard to very hard.
The easiest way to know for sure is to get your water tested. We do that as part of every consultation. It takes a few minutes, and it tells us exactly what’s in your water and what size system you need to treat it.
Yes. Hard water causes scale buildup inside appliances, which makes them work harder and fail sooner. Your water heater is the biggest example. When calcium and magnesium accumulate on the heating elements, your heater uses more energy to do the same job. That costs you money every month, and it shortens the lifespan of the unit by years.
Dishwashers, washing machines, and even coffee makers are affected the same way. The minerals clog internal components, reduce efficiency, and lead to premature breakdowns. A water softening system removes those minerals before they reach your appliances.
Most homeowners see a return on investment within three to five years just from the savings on energy bills, reduced maintenance, and fewer appliance replacements. After that, the system keeps delivering value for another 15 to 20 years.
Not much. You’ll need to add salt every six to eight weeks, depending on your household size and water usage. The system will tell you when the salt is low. That’s the only regular task on your end.
The system regenerates automatically based on how much water you use, so there’s no manual operation. It runs a cleaning cycle that flushes out the minerals it’s collected, and that happens on its own—usually at night when water demand is low.
We recommend an annual professional inspection to make sure everything is running efficiently. We’ll check the settings, test the water, and make any adjustments if your usage has changed. But day-to-day, you’re just adding salt when needed. That’s it.
Most installations take four to six hours. That includes connecting the system to your main water line, setting up the drain and overflow, programming the control head, and testing everything to make sure it works correctly.
If your home requires additional plumbing work or electrical connections, it might take a bit longer. But we handle all of that during the same visit. You won’t need to schedule a separate electrician or plumber.
Once the system is installed and running, you’ll have soft water immediately. We’ll walk you through how everything works before we leave, so you’re comfortable operating the system and know what to expect during the regeneration cycle.
A water softener removes hardness minerals—specifically calcium and magnesium—that cause scale buildup and damage appliances. It doesn’t filter out contaminants like chlorine, sediment, or bacteria. It’s designed to address one problem: hard water.
A water filter removes impurities, depending on what type of filter you’re using. Some filters target chlorine taste and odor. Others remove sediment or specific contaminants. Reverse osmosis systems filter out a wide range of dissolved solids.
Many homeowners in Lake Dot benefit from both. A water softener protects your plumbing and appliances from scale. A filter improves taste and removes contaminants. We can test your water and recommend the right combination based on what’s actually in it, not what we’re trying to sell you.
