Your toilets stop turning orange. That’s usually the first thing people notice after we install a proper iron removal system.
The sulfur smell disappears completely. No more explaining to guests why your water smells like rotten eggs. Hydrogen sulfide treatment eliminates the odor at the source, so your water just smells like water.
Your appliances last longer. Hard water minerals destroy water heaters, dishwashers, and washing machines from the inside out. A whole-house filtration system stops that damage before it starts, which means you’re not replacing appliances every few years.
You stop buying bottled water. When your tap water is clean and safe, you don’t need cases of plastic bottles cluttering your garage. The system pays for itself just in what you’re not spending at the store.
Your laundry comes out clean. No more rust stains on white clothes. No more rewashing loads because everything has an orange tint. Just clean clothes that actually look clean.
We specialize in well water problems specific to this area. We’re not a national company trying to sell you a one-size-fits-all system. We’re members of the National Water Quality Association and maintain an A+ Better Business Bureau rating with zero complaints.
Fruit Cove sits on the Floridan aquifer, which means your well water naturally contains iron, sulfur, and hard water minerals. We test hundreds of wells in St. Johns County every year, so we know exactly what’s in your water before we even show up.
We design whole-house water filtration systems based on what your specific test results show. If you have iron, we address iron. If you have sulfur, we handle that separately. If bacteria shows up in your test, we install the right disinfection system. You don’t pay for treatment you don’t need.
We start with a real water test. Not a sales pitch disguised as a test, but an actual analysis that shows what contaminants are in your well water. Iron, sulfur, bacteria, nitrates, pH levels, hardness – we test for everything that matters in Fruit Cove wells.
Once we know what’s in your water, we design a system that addresses those specific problems. If you have high iron content, we might recommend an air injection oxidation system that converts dissolved iron into particles that can be filtered out. For hydrogen sulfide, we often use hydrogen peroxide injection because it eliminates sulfur smell without adding chemicals that affect taste.
Installation typically takes one day for most whole-house systems. We connect the treatment equipment to your main water line so every faucet, shower, and appliance gets filtered water. You’ll see the difference immediately – no more orange water, no more smell, no more staining.
After installation, we test your water again to confirm the system is working correctly. We also show you how to maintain it and set up a service schedule if needed. Most systems need minimal maintenance, but we’re available when you need us.

Iron removal systems use either air injection oxidation or hydrogen peroxide injection, depending on your iron levels and water chemistry. Both methods work by oxidizing dissolved iron so it can be filtered out before it reaches your faucets. You’ll notice the difference the first time you flush a toilet and it stays white.
Sulfur treatment specifically targets hydrogen sulfide, which is what causes that rotten egg smell in Fruit Cove well water. The treatment oxidizes the sulfur compound and removes it completely. Your water won’t smell like chlorine or anything else – it just won’t smell.
Well water bacteria disinfection handles coliform bacteria, E. coli, and other microorganisms that sometimes show up in private wells. Florida health authorities recommend testing for bacteria annually because contamination can happen even in wells that previously tested clean. If bacteria appears in your test, we install a disinfection system that eliminates it continuously.
Water softening removes the calcium and magnesium that cause hard water problems. In Fruit Cove, hard water is almost universal. Softening prevents scale buildup in pipes and appliances, stops soap scum in showers, and makes your water heater more efficient. You’ll use less detergent and your dishes won’t have spots.
Every system we install comes with upfront pricing – no hidden fees after we’re done. Military members and first responders get $500 off because we support the people who serve this community.
You need a professional water test that analyzes for specific contaminants. Orange stains mean iron. Rotten egg smell means hydrogen sulfide. White residue and soap scum mean hard water. But you can’t see bacteria, nitrates, or pH problems without testing.
We test for everything that commonly affects Fruit Cove wells – iron, sulfur, hardness, bacteria, nitrates, pH, and other contaminants specific to the Floridan aquifer. The test results tell us exactly what treatment you need.
Some companies do free tests as a sales tactic and then recommend expensive systems regardless of what they find. We charge for testing because it’s a real analysis, not a pitch. You get actual numbers that show what’s in your water, and we design treatment based on those results, not on what we want to sell you.
The system prevents new stains from forming. It won’t remove stains that are already there – you’ll need to clean those off with a rust remover. But once the system is running, iron never reaches your fixtures, so new stains don’t appear.
Iron removal systems work by treating water before it enters your house. Air injection oxidation or hydrogen peroxide injection converts dissolved iron into solid particles, which then get filtered out. What comes through your pipes is iron-free water that won’t stain anything.
Most people notice the difference within days. Your toilet water stays clear instead of turning orange. White laundry stays white. Your dishwasher stops leaving rust spots on glasses. The staining just stops because the iron is gone.
It depends entirely on what’s wrong with your water. A basic iron removal system costs less than a complex setup that handles iron, sulfur, bacteria, and hard water together. We can’t give you an accurate price without knowing what contaminants you’re dealing with.
That said, most whole-house systems for typical Fruit Cove well water problems range from a few thousand dollars to around ten thousand for comprehensive treatment. We provide upfront pricing after we test your water and design a system for your specific situation.
The system pays for itself over time. You stop buying bottled water, your appliances last longer, and you’re not constantly replacing clothes ruined by iron stains. Plus, military members and first responders get $500 off, which helps offset the initial investment.
Both methods oxidize dissolved iron so it can be filtered out, but they work differently. Air injection oxidation uses oxygen from compressed air to convert iron into particles. It’s effective for moderate iron levels and doesn’t require chemicals or ongoing costs beyond electricity.
Hydrogen peroxide injection uses a small amount of peroxide to oxidize iron and sulfur simultaneously. It works better for high iron levels or when you have both iron and sulfur problems. You’ll need to refill the peroxide periodically, but it handles tougher water chemistry.
We recommend one method over the other based on your test results. If you have low to moderate iron and no sulfur, air injection usually makes more sense. If you have high iron or both iron and sulfur, hydrogen peroxide injection often works better. The goal is the same either way – removing iron before it reaches your faucets.
You can’t see, smell, or taste most bacteria. Coliform bacteria and E. coli don’t change how your water looks or tastes, but they can make you sick. That’s why Florida health authorities recommend testing well water for bacteria at least once a year.
If bacteria shows up in your test, you need disinfection. A UV system or chlorination setup kills bacteria continuously as water flows through it. The treatment happens automatically, so you don’t have to do anything except maintain the system according to the schedule.
Well water bacteria disinfection is especially important if you have children, elderly family members, or anyone with a compromised immune system in your house. Even healthy adults can get sick from contaminated well water. Testing annually catches contamination early, and treatment eliminates the risk completely.
