Your morning shower actually feels refreshing instead of leaving your skin tight and dry. Your dishes come out of the dishwasher without those stubborn white spots you’ve been scrubbing off for years.
Your water heater isn’t working overtime anymore. The mineral buildup that was forcing it to run hotter and longer is gone, and your energy bills start reflecting that difference within the first month.
Your washing machine produces clothes that feel softer and look brighter. You’re using half the detergent you used to need, and your colors aren’t fading like they were before. Even your hair feels different – actually clean instead of weighed down by mineral residue.
We’ve been solving hard water problems for over 50 years at Quality Safe Water of Florida. We’re A-rated by the Better Business Bureau with a perfect 5-star rating and zero complaints – something you won’t find with the national companies.
We’re members of the National Water Quality Association, which means we follow industry standards that actually matter. Unlike some of our competitors who disappear after installation, we service what we sell.
Astor Park sits in an area where Florida’s limestone aquifer creates particularly challenging water conditions. We’ve been working in this region long enough to know exactly what your water needs, and we size our systems specifically for Central Florida’s unique mineral content.
We start with a comprehensive water test at your home. This isn’t a basic hardness test – we analyze exactly what minerals are in your water and at what levels, because Astor Park’s water can vary significantly even between neighboring homes.
Once we understand your water’s specific challenges, we design a system that matches your household’s water usage and your home’s plumbing setup. We don’t sell one-size-fits-all solutions because your water problems aren’t one-size-fits-all.
Installation typically takes a few hours. We connect the system to your main water line so every faucet, shower, and appliance gets treated water. The system runs automatically – it knows when to regenerate based on your actual water usage, not a timer that wastes salt and water.
After installation, we test your water again to make sure everything is working correctly. We also show you how the system works and what minimal maintenance it needs.

Your water softening system comes with everything needed to handle Astor Park’s hard water challenges. The ion exchange resin removes calcium and magnesium minerals that cause scale buildup and soap problems.
The control valve is programmed specifically for your water conditions and usage patterns. Unlike basic timers that regenerate whether you need it or not, this system only regenerates when necessary, saving salt and water.
We include a bypass valve so you can temporarily bypass the system for maintenance without shutting off your water. The brine tank is sized appropriately for your system and includes a safety float to prevent overflow.
Installation includes all necessary plumbing connections, electrical hookups, and a thorough system startup. We also provide ongoing service support – when you call, you’re talking to people who know your system and your local water conditions, not a call center in another state.
Astor Park’s water typically ranges from 180 to over 300 parts per million of hardness, which puts it in the “hard” to “very hard” category. This is due to the limestone aquifer that supplies most of Central Florida’s groundwater.
The exact hardness can vary depending on your specific location and whether you’re on city water or a private well. We always test your actual water before recommending a system because what works for your neighbor might not be the right solution for your home.
This level of hardness causes the typical problems you’ve probably noticed – soap scum, mineral deposits on fixtures, reduced appliance efficiency, and that dry feeling on your skin and hair after showering.
Most Astor Park homeowners see immediate savings on cleaning products – you’ll use about 50% less detergent for laundry and dishwashing. Your water heater will run more efficiently, typically reducing energy costs by 15-25%.
Appliances last significantly longer with soft water. Your water heater, dishwasher, and washing machine won’t have mineral buildup reducing their efficiency and causing premature failure. Replacing a water heater costs $1,200-$2,500, so avoiding even one early replacement pays for the system.
The long-term savings add up quickly. Between reduced energy bills, fewer cleaning products, longer-lasting appliances, and less plumbing maintenance, most homeowners recover their investment within 2-3 years.
No, a properly functioning water softener won’t make your water taste salty. The amount of sodium added during the ion exchange process is minimal – about the same amount of sodium as in a slice of bread per 8-ounce glass.
The system exchanges hard minerals (calcium and magnesium) for sodium ions, but the sodium content remains well below levels that would affect taste. Most people can’t detect any difference in taste, and many actually prefer the taste of softened water.
If you’re on a sodium-restricted diet or simply prefer to avoid any additional sodium in your drinking water, we can install a separate drinking water system or bypass the kitchen cold water tap from the softener.
Water softener maintenance is minimal. The main requirement is keeping salt in the brine tank – most systems need salt added every 4-8 weeks depending on your water usage and hardness level.
Once a year, you should clean the brine tank and check that the system is regenerating properly. We provide detailed instructions and can handle this during an annual service visit if you prefer.
The resin bed that actually softens the water typically lasts 10-15 years with proper maintenance. The control valve and other components are designed for long-term reliability. We service all the systems we install and can maintain systems from other companies as well.
The right size depends on your water’s hardness level and your household’s daily water usage. A typical 3-4 person household in Astor Park usually needs a system that can handle 20,000-40,000 grains of hardness removal.
We calculate this by testing your water’s exact hardness and multiplying by your daily water usage. A family of four using 300 gallons per day with 250 PPM hardness would need about 43,750 grains of capacity.
Oversizing wastes salt and water during regeneration. Undersizing means more frequent regeneration cycles and potentially running out of soft water during peak usage times. We size systems based on your actual needs, not what’s easiest to sell.
