Your dishes come out of the dishwasher without spots. Your shower doors stay clearer longer. Your skin doesn’t feel tight and dry after washing.
Those are the small things you notice first. Then you realize your water heater isn’t working as hard, your washing machine isn’t struggling with soap buildup, and you’re not replacing appliances every few years because of mineral scale damage.
Florida water is hard—most areas test between 15 and 25 grains per gallon, which is two to three times what’s considered “hard water” anywhere else. That’s not just an inconvenience. It’s expensive. Scale clogs pipes, ruins fixtures, and forces your appliances to work harder and die sooner.
A properly installed water filtration system handles the minerals, removes chlorine and chloramines, and addresses the specific contaminants in your water supply. You’re not just improving taste. You’re protecting everything that touches water in your home.
We’ve been handling water treatment in Central Florida for over 50 years. We’re A-rated with the Better Business Bureau, hold a 5-star rating with zero complaints, and we’re members of the National Water Quality Association.
We don’t sell the same system to every homeowner. Zellwood’s water comes from aquifers that are easily contaminated due to Florida’s porous limestone and high water table. Your water might have hard minerals, sulfur, iron, chlorine, or worse—PFAS and nitrates. We test first, then design a system that actually handles what’s in your water.
We’re not plumbers. We don’t install water heaters. We focus entirely on water treatment, which means when you call, you’re talking to someone who knows filtration, reverse osmosis systems, UV purification, and activated carbon filtration inside and out.
First, we test your water. Not a basic hardness test—a comprehensive analysis that checks for hardness levels, pH, total dissolved solids, chlorine, iron, manganese, sulfur, bacteria, and nitrates. We explain the results in plain language and tell you what actually needs to be treated.
Then we design a system sized for your home and your daily water usage. Whole-house systems get installed at the point where water enters your home, so every faucet and appliance gets filtered water. Under-sink systems with reverse osmosis membranes go where you need ultra-pure drinking water.
Installation typically takes a few hours. After that, it takes a day or two for remaining hard water to flush out of your plumbing. Then you’ll notice the difference—softer skin, cleaner dishes, no more spots on glassware, and soap that actually lathers.
We handle the maintenance too. Routine service protects your investment and keeps everything running efficiently. Filters get changed on schedule, media gets checked, and you don’t have to think about it.

Most Florida homes need a combination approach. Activated carbon filtration removes chlorine, chloramines, and organic compounds that cause taste and odor issues. Water softeners handle the calcium and magnesium that create scale buildup. Reverse osmosis systems filter out dissolved solids, heavy metals, nitrates, and PFAS—the so-called “forever chemicals” that are showing up in more Florida water supplies.
If you’ve got iron or sulfur, we address that specifically. Same with low pH or bacterial contamination. UV water purification kills bacteria and viruses without adding chemicals to your water.
Zellwood sits near a Superfund site, and the local water utility serves about 2,500 people with at least one contaminant above EPA health guidelines. That’s not scare tactics—it’s public record. Your water might be fine, or it might not. Testing tells you for sure.
We use high-quality media and components. Many of our products carry limited lifetime warranties. We’re Florida’s largest custom builder of water treatment equipment, which means we’re not shipping in generic systems and hoping they work. We’re building what your home needs.
For most homes on city water in Florida, a quality mid-range system runs between $1,500 and $2,500 installed. That typically includes a whole-house carbon filter and a water softener sized correctly for your household.
If you want reverse osmosis for drinking water, add another $400 to $800 depending on the system. If you’ve got specific issues like high iron, sulfur, or low pH, the cost goes up because you need additional treatment stages.
The cheapest systems don’t last and won’t handle Florida’s water problems. The most expensive systems are often oversized or include features you don’t need. We size equipment based on your actual water usage and the contaminants we find in your test results, so you’re not paying for capacity you’ll never use.
It depends on the system. Activated carbon filters remove chlorine, chloramines, volatile organic compounds, and some pesticides. They improve taste and odor significantly.
Water softeners remove calcium and magnesium—the minerals that cause hardness. They don’t remove other contaminants, but they protect your plumbing and appliances from scale damage.
Reverse osmosis systems remove up to 99% of dissolved solids, including heavy metals like lead, nitrates, fluoride, arsenic, and PFAS. If you’re concerned about what’s actually in your drinking water, reverse osmosis is the most thorough option.
UV purification kills bacteria, viruses, and other microorganisms without adding chemicals. It’s often recommended if you’re on well water or if there’s any concern about microbial contamination.
Carbon filters typically need replacement every 6 to 12 months depending on your water usage and quality. Sediment pre-filters might need changing every 3 to 6 months.
Water softeners need salt refills regularly—usually every 4 to 8 weeks depending on your water hardness and how much water you use. The resin bed inside the softener can last 10 to 15 years if maintained properly.
Reverse osmosis systems need membrane replacement every 2 to 3 years, and the pre-filters and post-filters need changing every 6 to 12 months. UV lamps lose effectiveness over time and should be replaced annually.
We offer service plans that handle all of this for you. We’ll schedule filter changes, check system performance, and make sure everything’s working efficiently. Most homeowners prefer that over trying to remember what needs changing when.
Not if it’s sized correctly. That’s why proper sizing matters. If you install a system that’s too small for your household’s peak demand, you’ll notice pressure drops when multiple fixtures are running.
We calculate your home’s flow rate requirements before recommending equipment. A typical household needs a system that can handle 10 to 15 gallons per minute during peak usage without pressure loss.
Whole-house systems installed at the main line do create a slight pressure drop—usually 2 to 5 PSI—but that’s not noticeable in normal use. If your home already has low water pressure, we’ll address that before installation or recommend a system that minimizes the impact.
Under-sink reverse osmosis systems don’t affect your home’s water pressure at all. They work independently and fill a small storage tank, so you always have filtered water available when you need it.
You can install some under-sink filters yourself if you’re comfortable with basic plumbing. Most come with instructions and the necessary fittings. But if something leaks or doesn’t work right, you’re on your own to fix it.
Whole-house systems and water softeners should be installed by someone who knows what they’re doing. These connect to your main water line, require proper drainage for backwash cycles, and need electrical connections for control valves. If the sizing is wrong or the installation isn’t done correctly, you’ll have problems—low pressure, leaks, or a system that doesn’t actually treat your water effectively.
Professional installation also means you get a warranty that’s actually valid. Many manufacturers won’t honor warranties if the system wasn’t installed by a certified technician.
We handle permits if they’re required, make sure everything meets code, and test the system before we leave. You’re not guessing whether it’s working—you know it is.
