Your water heater stops losing efficiency to scale buildup. Right now, if you’ve got hard water, your heater is working 29% harder than it should. That’s money leaving your account every month for nothing.
Your appliances last longer. Dishwashers, washing machines, coffee makers – they all take a beating from mineral-heavy water. A whole-house water filtration system stops that damage before it starts.
You stop scrubbing soap scum off everything. Your shower doors, your faucets, your dishes – all of it stays cleaner because the water coming through is actually clean. And your skin and hair feel different immediately. Softer water means less irritation, less dryness, and no more residue left behind after every shower.
Your family drinks water that’s been tested and treated for the contaminants that actually show up in Palmo. Not a generic solution. A system designed around what’s in your water right now.
We have an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau and a 5-star rating with zero complaints. That doesn’t happen by accident. It happens because we show up, we do the work right, and we service what we install.
We’re members of the National Water Quality Association, and we’ve been solving hard water problems across North and Central Florida for over five decades. Palmo sits on the same limestone bedrock that makes hard water a problem throughout the state. We know exactly what’s in your water because we’ve tested thousands of homes just like yours.
You’re not getting a national company that sells you a system and disappears. You’re getting a Florida-based team that understands local water conditions and actually answers the phone when you call.
We start with drinking water quality testing at your home. Not a guess. Not a generic recommendation based on your zip code. An actual analysis of what’s coming through your pipes right now.
Once we know what’s in your water, we design a system that addresses those specific issues. If you’ve got high mineral content, we talk through water softener options – including salt-free systems if that’s a better fit. If contamination is the concern, we look at reverse osmosis systems or activated carbon filtration. If bacteria is present, UV water purification handles that.
Then we install it. Our technicians are factory-trained, and the installation includes a walkthrough of how your new system works and what kind of maintenance it needs. Most whole-house systems need very little ongoing attention, but we make sure you know what to expect.
After installation, you’ve got a warranty and access to our service team. If something needs adjustment or servicing, we handle it. That’s the difference between working with a local company and dealing with a national brand that doesn’t service what they sell.

A whole-house water filtration system treats every drop of water that enters your home. That means every faucet, every shower, every appliance gets filtered water. Not just the kitchen sink.
The system itself depends on what your water test shows. Some homes need a water softener to handle high calcium and magnesium levels. Others need a multi-stage filtration system with activated carbon to remove chlorine, sediment, and chemicals. Some need both.
If you’re concerned about bacteria or viruses, UV water purification kills those contaminants without adding chemicals to your water. If you want the highest level of drinking water quality, an under-sink filter installation with a reverse osmosis system removes up to 99% of dissolved solids and contaminants.
Palmo’s water comes from the same aquifer system that supplies much of Central Florida. The limestone bedrock dissolves into the groundwater, which is why hardness is so common here. Your system gets designed around that reality, not a one-size-fits-all approach that works nowhere.
We also offer a $500 discount for military members and first responders. If you’ve served, that’s our way of saying thank you and making sure you’re not overpaying for clean water.
The cost depends entirely on what your water test reveals and what size system your home needs. A basic water softener for a smaller home might run a few thousand dollars. A comprehensive whole-house filtration system with reverse osmosis for drinking water, UV purification, and softening can cost more.
Here’s what matters: the system pays for itself. Palmo families lose between $1,180 and $1,580 every year to hard water damage. That’s appliance repairs, early replacements, higher energy bills, and constant maintenance. Over ten years, that’s $11,800 to $15,800 in preventable costs.
A quality system protects your water heater, your dishwasher, your washing machine, and your plumbing. It reduces energy consumption because your appliances run efficiently. And it eliminates the need for bottled water, which adds up faster than most people realize. We give you a clear quote after testing your water, so you know exactly what you’re paying for and why.
A water softener specifically targets hardness – the calcium and magnesium that cause scale buildup and make soap less effective. It works through ion exchange, swapping out those hard minerals for sodium or potassium. Some systems use salt, others use a salt-free crystallization process that prevents scale without adding sodium to your water.
A water filtration system removes contaminants like chlorine, sediment, chemicals, and bacteria. Activated carbon filtration handles chlorine and organic compounds. Reverse osmosis systems remove dissolved solids, heavy metals, and up to 99% of contaminants. UV water purification kills bacteria and viruses without chemicals.
Most homes need both. Softening handles the hardness that damages appliances. Filtration handles the stuff you don’t want your family drinking or bathing in. We test your water first, then recommend what actually makes sense for your situation. If your water is hard but otherwise clean, maybe you only need a softener. If it’s got contamination issues, filtration becomes the priority. We don’t sell you more than you need.
It depends on the type of system, but most whole-house setups need very little ongoing maintenance. A traditional salt-based water softener needs salt added every few months, depending on your water usage and hardness level. Salt-free systems need even less attention – usually just an annual check.
Activated carbon filters need replacement every six to twelve months, depending on your water quality and how much water you use. Reverse osmosis systems have multiple filter stages that get changed on different schedules – some annually, some every two to three years. UV bulbs need replacement about once a year to maintain effectiveness.
We set you up with a maintenance schedule during installation, and we handle the service if you want us to. Some customers prefer to change their own filters. Others want us to come out and take care of it. Either way, you’re not dealing with constant upkeep. These systems are designed to run quietly in the background and do their job without much intervention.
Yes, but the solution depends on what’s causing the smell. If you’ve got hydrogen sulfide in your water – that rotten egg smell – an activated carbon filter can handle low levels. For higher concentrations, you might need an oxidation system that converts the hydrogen sulfide into sulfur particles, which then get filtered out.
Some homes have sulfur bacteria in their water heater, not in the main water supply. In that case, treating the whole house won’t fix the problem. You’d need to address the water heater specifically. We test your water to figure out where the sulfur is coming from and what concentration you’re dealing with.
Palmo’s groundwater can sometimes carry sulfur compounds depending on where your water is sourced. It’s not harmful to drink, but it smells terrible and can stain fixtures. A properly designed filtration system eliminates the odor and prevents staining. We’ve handled this issue in hundreds of Florida homes, so we know exactly what works.
Most installations take four to eight hours, depending on the complexity of the system and your home’s plumbing setup. A straightforward water softener install in a home with accessible plumbing might be done in half a day. A multi-stage system with softening, filtration, UV purification, and an under-sink reverse osmosis unit takes longer.
We’re not rushing through the job. Our technicians are making sure everything is installed correctly, all connections are secure, and the system is calibrated to your water conditions. After installation, we walk you through how everything works, what the maintenance schedule looks like, and how to spot any issues.
You’ll have water service throughout most of the installation. We shut off water only when we’re making the actual connections. Once the system is running, you’ll notice the difference immediately – softer water, better taste, no more mineral buildup starting to form on your fixtures.
